Up and close with Alia Bhatt; Arjun or Varun?

Ever since Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor were spotted catching up for a movie together at a suburban multiplex, there were rumours that the duo were in a relationship. But when he asked Alia about her alleged love affair, she plainly denied it.

“I am not dating Arjun. We get along very well. That’s it. I am not going to severe ties with my friends just to put a lid on such rumours,” she says.

The rumours not only had Arjun Kapoor entangled but also his old co-star Varun Dhawan. ”I am being honest. A couple of days ago, I went out with Siddharth Malhotra to see Ship of Theseus. He is a friend and so is Varun Dhawan.”

She confesses that she finds both Arjun and Varun attractive. But is quick to add: “I don’t want to fall in love at this point in my life. I don’t have so much time at my disposal. Isn’t love a very heavy word? We use the word ‘love’ very frivolously. Why do people say ‘I love you’ so easily? Even when I had boyfriends, I wasn’t in love per se. A person does not need to be in love to be in a relationship.”

She also says that her dad is very supportive and is not bothered about her link-up stories. ”And I won’t lie that I have had boyfriends in the past. In fact, I had two boyfriends in school. I am no saint,” the Bhatt girl says rather proudly.

However, she feels she has more to explain about the movie theatre episode. “Let me tell you that it was a special screening of D-Day and Nikhil Advani had invited both of us. It was not as if we went for a stroll in the evening and went for a movie date. Don’t you go out to movies with your colleagues? Is it unheard of for colleagues to become good friends?”
There were reports that the 20-year old actress spends a lot of time with Arjun’s sister Anshula!. “So? We just clicked a few pictures together. How does it imply that Arjun and I are dating?” she sounds offended.

“I know my limits. I still can’t come home at 6 am. There are rules at home that we must adhere to. We speak to our helpers very politely. If I ever start behaving like a brat, my mom immediately puts her foot down. She has given me sufficient freedom and I will never betray their trust,” adds Alia.

The actress has also become a favourite of Ranbir Kapoor as the star has been recommending her to many filmmakers. ”Well, he did tell Imtiaz Ali (for Highway) about me,” said Alia.
