It is a shocking news for the masses and cine-goers as Veena Malik's
Silk Sakkath Hot screening has been halted. A social activist has
brought a stay on the movie till August 10. Bhimashankar Patil, the
President of Karnataka Navnirman Sene, filed a petition to ban Silk
Sakkath Hot from screening. The case came before the court on Wednesday
(August 7) and it passed the order for a temporary ban on the Kannada
movie. According to the petitioner, Silk Sakkath Hot projects women in a
bad taste, and there are vulgar scenes in the movie in the name of
sensuous sequences. The film sends a bad message to the society and
allowing such films for screening will harm the society. He also claimed
that the posters of the film are as bad as the movie, and it should be
removed with immediate effect. Responding to his plea, the court gave a
temporary ban on the movie till August 10. It has served notices to
producer Venkatappa, director Trishul and actors Akshay and Veena Malik.
The court has asked the makers of the film to appear before the court
on August 8 for further hearing. It has to be noted that Silk Sakkath
Hot has been cleared by Regional Censor Board with 'A' certificate.
